The Nigeria Police Force Zone 16 Command Headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, has unveiled plans for the 2026 National Police Day celebrations, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust.”
In a statement signed by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, SP Gunn Ewhoborwo Emonena and mad available to newsmen in Yenagoa, the command said the week-long activities are in line with directives from Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
The programme will kick off on Monday, 30th March 2026, with a sanitation and cleaning exercise across selected areas in Yenagoa.
On Tuesday, 31st March 2026, police personnel will hold a Walkathon in collaboration with the Bayelsa State Command to promote fitness, unity, and community visibility.
According to the statement Wednesday, 1st April 2026 will feature sensitization campaigns aimed at curbing social vices, cultism, gender-based violence, and promoting road safety among drivers.

The grand finale is scheduled for Tuesday, 7th April 2026, with a ceremonial parade and tactical display at Eagle Square, Abuja.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 16, AIG Johnson Oluwole Adenola, invites members of the public to actively participate in the activities as the Force seeks to strengthen trust and partnership with communities.
