In the clip, Charlotte — who posts content under the username Charlotte-Maddison — said she experienced a “cryptic pregnancy,” which is when a woman does not know she is pregnant.

The new mom explained that she noticed some changes in her body, but nothing that indicated she was pregnant.

“I gained a bit of pudge,” she recalled, also noting that she went up two sizes in jeans.

Being in a two-and-a-half-year relationship, Charlotte added that she “just kind of assumed” her recent weight gain “was a bit of happy relationship weight.”

“I was also going through a lot of stressful things in my life at the time, so kind of put it down to that, [and I] wasn’t really concerned,” she further explained.

Charlotte, who said she was still getting her period and was on birth control, visited her general practitioner on June 6 to discuss a potential gluten allergy, and during the visit, her doctor administered several routine tests — one of which was a pregnancy test.

Charlotte’s doctor eventually informed her that she was pregnant, but said she was very likely in the early stages of her pregnancy, based on her initial exam.

“[I] was probably freaking out a little bit [at this point], because I was like, ‘There’s no way that I’m pregnant,’ ” Charlotte recalled.

Still, she called her boyfriend, and they went in for an initial ultrasound that same day to get more information. It was then when Charlotte received the truly life-changing news that the baby was measuring “38 weeks and 4 days” — less than two weeks short of a full-term pregnancy.

“At that point, you can pretty much understand [that] I kind of blacked out,” Charlotte said in her social media video.

During the appointment, Charlotte said she and her partner additionally found out that there was an issue with her placental sack, which meant she would likely need to be induced soon.

She was eventually admitted to the maternity ward, and she gave birth to a son just 17 hours and 21 minutes after finding out she was pregnant.

“I didn’t really comprehend what was going on. I don’t know how else to explain it. It was definitely a crazy experience,” Charlotte said.

Looking back at her wild journey to motherhood, Charlotte said in her video, “Long story short, I’m happy [and] healthy. Me and my partner love being parents.”

Charlotte also supplied supporting documentation from the hospital and her doctor’s visit, as she predicted many viewers might doubt her story.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, about 1 in every 2,500 pregnancies go unnoticed until delivery.

Those most at risk for cryptic or stealth pregnancies are those on birth control, in perimenopause, women with PCOS and women who have recently given birth.
