Nigerian singer Waje has shared that she was the female voice on P-Square’s 2007 hit song ‘Do Me’ but did not receive any payment for her role.
The revelation came during a podcast appearance where she discussed her early career and the experiences that shaped her journey in the music industry.
Waje, whose full name is Aituaje Iruobe, explained that she sang the chorus of ‘Do Me’ but was neither credited nor officially featured on the track.
According to her, people often doubted her claim that it was her voice on the song since her name was not mentioned in the credits.
The song ‘Do Me’, part of P-Square’s third studio album ‘Game Over’, gained massive popularity across Africa and helped push both Waje and the duo into the spotlight. However, she missed appearing in the music video because she did not have a passport at the time it was filmed.

The album strengthened P-Square’s reputation as one of Africa’s leading pop acts in the 2000s.
The group, made up of twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, later went their separate ways in 2016 due to personal and management differences. They reunited briefly in 2021 before returning to pursue their solo careers.
