United States Congressman Riley Moore says the US and Nigerian governments are close to finalising a strategic security framework aimed at tackling Boko Haram and other terrorist threats in Nigeria.
Moore, who recently visited Nigeria with a bipartisan congressional delegation, said the team held positive discussions with Nigerian authorities on strengthening security cooperation.

The lawmaker, in a post on X on Saturday night, described the humanitarian impact of the insurgency as heartbreaking, recounting encounters with victims who lost family members to violence.
He said the proposed framework would address threats posed by Boko Haram and ISIS in the North-East, as well as wider security challenges in other parts of Nigeria.
Moore stated: “What I witnessed during my trip to Nigeria was heartbreaking.
“I met a woman who witnessed all five of her children murdered in front of her.
“Another woman lost her husband and two daughters and had her unborn child killed.
“We did have positive conversations with the Nigerian government, and I believe we are close to a a strategic security framework to address both the ISIS and Boko Haram threat in the Northeast, as well as the genocide against Christians by the radical Fulani Muslims in the Middle Belt.”
The lawmaker further disclosed that a report from the visit will be presented to President Donald Trump.
“The report that I will present President Donald Trump with outlines paths to work with the Nigerian government to end the slaughter of our brothers and sisters in Christ,” he added.
