Youthful Nicholas Felix stepped down for the Vice-president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo while the only woman aspirant, Barrister Uju Benedict Ohanenye stepped down for Tinubu to round off exciting addresses to the delegates by the aspirants.
22 presidential aspirants out of 23 made their multidimensional pitches as they kept fidelity to their ritual of speech making that encapsulated their respective agenda for Nigeria.
Only Emeka Nwajiuba was not at the convention venue and therefore could not step up to address the delegates.
With the speeches over, the stage is now set for the elective convention by the accredited 2203 voting delegates.
Meanwhile, a number of the aspirants were exceptionally brilliant and oratorical in their speeches.
Vice-president Osinbajo, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and Dr Kayode Fayemi, among others, were brilliant.
In all, seven aspirants stepped down for Tinubu while one stepped down for Osinbajo.
Those who stepped down for Tinubu are Godswill Akpabio, Governor Kayode Fayemi, Governor Abubakar Badaru, Senator Ajayi Borrofice, Former House of Reps Speaker, Dimeji Bankole, former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Barrister Uju Benedict Ohanenye.
Former Senate President Ken Nnamani withdrew from the race without attending down for anyone.
Of all the seven that stepped down for Tinubu, only three of them control delegates from their states, namely: Gov Fayemi, Gov Badaru and Senator Akpabio.
This leaves thirty three states and Abuja still open for aspirants to hunt for delegates’ votes.
Aspirants in the race and for whom delegates will be voting for any moment from now are Tinubu, Osibanjo, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, Hon Rotimi Amaechi, Gov David Umahi Senator Rochas Okorocha, Ikeobasi Mokelu, Ogbonnaya Onu (who insisted that Southeast zone deserved justice), Tunde Bakare (who said he was stepping up instead of stepping down), Jack Tein Rich, Governor Yahaya Bello, Governor Ben Ayade, and former Governor Sani Yerima.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has addressed the delegates and aspirants, urging any of the aspirants that wins the ticket to be maganimous in victory.
