The management of Osun State University has kick-started plan to hold the third annual lecture in honour of Prince Tunde Ponnle, a friend of the university, who is also a member of the governing council.
The lecture in his honour is based on Ponnle’s contribution to the development of the university and the educational system at large.
The third in the series of the annual lecture themed: “Human Rights-based Approach to Sustainable Development in Africa: Challenges, Opportunities and Prospects,” will be delivered by a Professor of Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) London, Professor Mashod Baderin as the pro-chancellor and chairman of council of Crown Hill University, Ilorin, Emeritus Professor Olu Aina, will chair the occasion on Thursday, 23rd December 2021 at the Olagunsoye Oyinlola Auditorium, Osun State University-Main Campus, Osogbo by 10.00am prompt.
Speaking on the coming lecture, the acting Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University, Professor Afeez Adefemi Bello said: “We started the annual lecture two years ago during the tenure of the immediate former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola based on Prince Ponnle’s wonderful contributions to the education sector in the state and the development of Osun State University which tallies with the Sustainable Development Goals of the Global Affairs and Sustainable Development Institute (GASDI) of the University.
“The first and second in the series of the lecture was a success and we strongly believe that the third in the series of the annual lecture would be rewarding, highly stimulating and intellectually enriching,” Professor Bello added.
