Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has felicitated one of its alumni, Afolabi Nathaniel Oluwaseun, on his award by the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC), as the overall best candidate in the 2021/2022 Town Planners Professional Practice Examination (TPPPE) in Nigeria.
The University’s felicitation was contained in a statement issued by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, on Monday, 7th August, 2023.
The statement read in part: “The Vice-Chancellor, Professor ‘Ayo Clement Adebooye, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff and Students of Osun State University, felicitates Afolabi Nathaniel Oluwaseun on this recognition by TOPREC as the overall best candidate in the 2021/2022 Town Planners Professional Practice Examination.
“Oluwaseun has made this University very proud and adds his name to the long list of our Alumni making giant strides in the nation and Africa. His recognition by TOPREC goes a long way to show that we train our students while with us both in character and learning, and subject them to critical assessment that validates their global competitiveness.”
Oluwaseun, a B.Sc. Graduate of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, was announced the overall best candidate at the 36th Induction Ceremony of Newly Registered Town Planners, held on Thursday, 3rd August, 2023, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, where 288 new members participated.
In attendance at the 36th Induction Ceremony was the Deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Jibrin Barau, TOPREC President, Tpl. Isyaku Muktar, the immediate past TOPREC President, Professor Layi Egunjobi, among other dignitaries.
Recall that two of the University’s Alumni over the past year were appointed ambassadors by ECOWAS and won the prestigious Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity, while another received the 2019 President’s NYSC Honours award.
