An urgent debate was held by the UK House of Commons on Monday, less than 24 hours after St Xavier Feancis Catholic Church in the ancient city of Owo in Ondo State was invaded by gunmen.

The gunmen had exploded dynamites in and around the premises of the church and reportedly shot and killed scores of worshippers in cold blood.

The mission of the fleeing gunmen was to maim and kill. Reports said that they did not come to kidnap the priest.

The police have launched into a massive manhunt for the perpetrators of the heinous act.

Meanwhile, Britons were called upon to ensure that their MPs take part in the debate on Owo Massacre.
