It was celebrations galore as Chiefs, Youths, Traditional Rulers, Women groups, joined members of United Front for Douye Diri (UFDD) to appreciate the Director General of the group, Hon.Timothy Dikievie Itiedu for his appointment as Executive Chairman, Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Authority.
United Front for Douye Diri, a non-governmental organization that is one of the largest support groups that galvanized support for the re-election of Sen. Douye Diri at the gubernatorial election held on 11th November, 2023, in Bayelsa State.
The Thanksgiving service held at UFDD Secretariat complex, Yenagoa had members drawn from all the local government areas in the State including non indigenes who differ the heavy downpour and sang melodious praises to God for the Divine upliftment.
In their separate goodwill messages, Coordinators of UFDD in Nembe, Ogbia, and Ekeremor local government area of Bayelsa state described Hon.Timothy Diekivie as a humble, God fearing, grassroot politician who has impacted lives positively.
They thanked Sen. Douye Diri for appointing Hon.Timothy Dikievie as Executive Chairman of Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Authority, adding that it’s a testament of Hon Timothy’s doggedness and resilience.
They urged members of UFDD to be steadfast, dedicated, and support Hon. Timothy to succeed in its quest to transform Bayelsa to be safe, clean, and healthier environment.
In his remark, the Executive Chairman of Bayelsa State Environmental Sanitation Authority, Hon.Timothy Dikievie Itedu expressed gratitude to God, members of UFDD, youths, women, traditional rulers, for standing by him throughout the electioneering process.
The Director-General of UFDD thanked Governor Douye Diri for his appointment and pledged not to betray the confidence reposed on him.
The sanitation boss appreciated the UFDD family for their steadfastness in interceding for Bayelsa State and the Prosperity Administration, which has yielded all round results.
He promised to promote a healthy living through a clean environment in the state capital with a plan to launch “Operation Keep Bayelsa sparklingly Clean.”
He assured Bayelsans that Yenagoa metropolis and Bayelsa at large will wear a new look under his watch as the sanitation boss.
He further noted that “he that is faithful in little, is faithful in much”, and urged Bayelsans to be faithful with disposals of the refuse at designated spots.
