The university spokesperson stated that the scholarship was a proactive step towards creating a just and equitable educational landscape where economic difficulties would not hinder access to opportunities and intellectual growth.

Lawan showed that out of the 13 students who applied for the scholarship, Usman Abdulhamid from Science Education Department and Amir Mustapha from Accounting Department were each considered suitable for the award of N200,000.

Lawan said the screening committee also deemed it fit to give the remaining 11 students who applied for the scholarship assistance of N20,000 each.
