Two docked for allegedly stealing neighbour’s phones worth N470,000

The police, on Friday, arraigned two men before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly breaking into a neighbour’s home and stealing two phones worth N470,000.

The defendants, Yunusa Amisu, 25, and Mustapha Ibrahim, 24, who are traders reside at 22 Adewale Mould Street in Ayobo area of Lagos State.

They are being tried for conspiracy, burglary and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Samuel Mishozunnu told the court that the offences were allegedly committed on June 27 at the defendants’ residence.

The prosecutor said that the defendants allegedly burgled the home of one Miss Priscilla Micheal, who is their neighbour and stole two Samsung phones valued at N470,000.

The prosecutor said that the defendants were allegedly sighted by one of the neighbours.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 287, 307 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Mrs Folasade Hughes granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties in like sum.

Hughes adjourned the case until July 27 for mention. (NAN)
