Zamfara State witnessed a breakthrough in its fight against terrorism as troops of 1 Brigade in Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, Operation Hadarin Daji, neutralized a notorious terrorist leader, Alhaji Ma’oli, on December 26, 2024.
In a statement, Coordinator, Joint Media Coordination Centre Operation Hadarin Daji Lieut. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi said the operation took place in Mai Sheka village near Kunchin Kalgo town, a community long terrorized by Ma’oli.
Known for extorting illegal levies from residents in Unguwan Rogo, Mai Sheka, Magazawa, and other areas in Tsafe LGA, his demise has brought relief and hope to locals in the Bilbis region.
Acting on intelligence about terrorists operating on motorcycles in the Bilbis axis, troops responded swiftly, thwarting a planned attack and dismantling Ma’oli’s network.
This operation underscores Operation Hadarin Daji’s dedication to restoring peace and security in Zamfara and its environs.
The Joint Task Force remains steadfast in its mission to eliminate all remaining terrorist threats while working closely with local communities to secure lasting peace.
