The president noted that Marwa was nominated to represent the north-east zone on the NDDC governing board, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Abdulrazak Namdas.

According to Tinubu, Namdas resigned from the board on March 30, 2026, to contest the governorship election in Adamawa state.

“The Senate is invited to note that the appointment of Dr Zainab Marwa is to fill a vacuum created by the resignation of the immediate past member of the board, Honourable Namdas Abdulrazak, from the northeast zone, who resigned on the 30th day of March 2026 to contest the position of governor of Adamawa state,” the letter reads.

*Senate committee to screen nominee*
Tinubu expressed hope that the senate would consider and confirm Marwa’s appointment as a member of the NDDC governing board to represent the northeast zone.
