Three unemployed men on Wednesday, appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing cable wire valued at N2.5 million.
The defendants, Emmanuel Jeremiah, 27, Philip Oyihi, 29 and Christian Okoro, 19, who lived at Yaba, Lagos, were being tried for conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Raphael Donny told the court that the offences were committed on Dec. 30, 2022 at no 24, Oba Akran Road, Ikeja
Donny said that the defendants and others still at large, stole the cable wire valued N2.5million at night, a property of Oduduwa People’s Congress (OPC).
The prosecutor said that the defendants were arrested in their hideouts.
The offences, according to the prosecutor contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. A Odubayo, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500, 000 each with two sureties in like sum.
Odubayo adjourned the case until April 26 for mention. (NAN)
