Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar lll, has conferred the title of Kakakin Daular Usmaniya on Olorogun Peter Igho MFR.
The conferment was done in the palace of the Sultan in Sokoto, where Igho worked with the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, from 1975 to 1977 as Head of Dramatic Department. In 1976, he founded the Sokoto State Cuptural Troupe.
These, among other achievements, cemented Igho’s bond with Sokoto, the seat of the Sultanate.
It was, therefore, not a surprise when the Sultan remembered the veteran TV producer of the utilitarian hue for the significant honour.
The Sultan who welcomed Igho back home showered encomiums on him.
The honour was backed with a formal letter to Olorogun Igho.
