It was Shakespeare who, in one of his classics, “Julius Caesar”, said “When beggars die, there are no comets seen; the heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princes.”

However, in the case of the publisher and editor-in-chief of THE CONCLAVE, Mr Sufuyan Ojeifo, Shakespeare would have been compelled to conclude his famous words this way, “the heavens themselves blaze forth the birth of a prince,” in a fitting accolade to Mr Ojeifo. And that is because the erudite publisher has, over the years, demonstrated rare attributes of professionalism, fairness, exemplary leadership, quality mentoring, and commitment to nation-building, including always being on the side of the downtrodden in the discharge of his duties.

There is, therefore, no other occasion more fitting to celebrate this living icon than this occasion of his 59th birthday.

I first met Mr Ojeifo in person exactly ten years ago in the run up to the 2015 general elections, and I immediately had the impression of a highly effective, efficient, caring, compassionate, and considerate man who did not allow himself to be distracted by inanities but has remained highly focused on his mission. He is surely destined for greatness!

It is therefore both pleasing and heartwarming that not only heavens but also humanity are collaborating on all virtuous fronts to celebrate the birthday of such a gentle giant in the pen profession.

As Mr Sufuyan Ojeifo marks his 59th birthday today, one can only pray God to preserve him in good health and happiness as we continue to tap into his well of wisdom for a better humanity.
