Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has paid tribute to the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Obadiah Mailafiya, who passed on early Sunday.
The former Senator in a post on his social media handles said Dr Obadiah Mailafiya had stepped out of this troubled, troubling and turbulent world into the realm of immortality.
Sani said Dr Obadiah Mailafiya left the memories of his powerful words and shattering truth.
“He cast the light of justice and freedom in the dark corners of power. Dr Mailafiya epitomised courage , conscience and conviction.
“Whenever he speaks, he breaks the ceiling of fear and unsettles a nation allergic to the truth.
“He kept power on its toes with his facts and intelligence. He was a northern star who shinned in the darkness of silence and surrender. He raised the moral bar with his boldness,” Sani said.
He added that Dr Obadiah Mailafiya was a man whose truth was without a season like most greats and champions of freedom.
He said Dr Obadiah Mailafiya inspired many and irritated the establishment in his journey of life.
He prayed for his soul to Rest In Peace.
