The senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District, Okey Ezea, has died in the United Kingdom.
Reports said that the senator elected on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) passed away in the UK while receiving medical treatment.
The lawmaker’s death was confirmed by his colleagues on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
Ezea became the second serving senator from the South-East to die within two years, following the demise of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of Anambra State, who also passed away in London in July 2024 at the age of 52.

Ezea was the only LP member from Enugu State in the 10th National Assembly.
The Senate is expected to formally announce the lawmaker’s demise at plenary, with a minute of silence likely to be observed in his honour, as is customary in legislative tradition. [The Star]
