Senator Bashiru promises better life for his constituents

The lawmaker representing Osun Central, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, has promised to continue to empower his constituents with vocational tools and other items that would contribute to their betterment.

Senator Ajibola made this known on Monday while fielding questions from newsmen during the press conference organised at his Osun Central Senatorial Office in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Bashiru, who is the Senate spokesperson, said within the short period of his assumption at the Senate to represent his people, he had empowered many artisans and students who have received hair dryers, generators, deep freezers, motorcycles, scholarships and computer tablets.

Bashiru added that, N8m was also distributed to 400 traders under the ‘Trade Support Initiative’, saying it is going to be a continuous exercise.

According to the Osogbo-born politician, “My activities are scheduled to provide a wide range of social services and public amenities, and encourage the cooperation and participation of the Osun Central inhabitants in joint endeavours towards the improvement of conditions of living through capacity building and education; building a world of business opportunities, to the meeting of basic needs in water, provision of power, agriculture and other forms of social intervention.”

While speaking on the state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola’s second term bid, Bashiru said the governor had already worked for his emergence for the second term with his people oriented programmes.

He said: “People of the state have seen themselves the good work of Mr Governor like construction of gigantic flyover at Ola-Iya, construction and rehabilitation of roads across the state, welfare of workers among others.”

Bashiru however enjoined the people of the state not to relent in demonstrating their support for Governor Oyetola during governorship election, saying “Mr Governor will not fail you people.”
