A video of a man said to be a Senator kissing an unidentified woman in his office has resurfaced online.
THE CONCLAVE reports that this is not the first time this same video has done the rounds online.
In the video sent to THE CONCLAVE by an avid reader for us to confirm the veracity of the involvement of a senator in the “kissing act”, the man is seen romancing and kissing an unidentified woman.
The report claimed that the act happened in an office within the National Assembly complex in Abuja.
Reacting to the viral video, the Nigerian Senate dismissed it.
It said the man caught on camera kissing a woman inside an office is not its member
Although some people are of the opinion that the man bears some resemblance with Senator Sahabi Alhaji Yau, who represents Zamfara North Senatorial District, but that he is not the one in the viral video.
THE CONCLAVE reports that the video had once trended about six years ago.
The footage has now sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many commentators alleging that the individual in the video was Senator Yau.
However, the spokesperson and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, while speaking with Sahara Reporters, dissociated the National Assembly and Senator Yau from the incident.
Adaramodu denied that the man in the video was a senator.
He said, “That’s not the picture of any senator who is presently serving in the Nigerian Senate. That video has been online for the past four to five years.
“I’d seen it before I came to the Senate. Even when I was in the House of Representatives, I saw that video.
“And when you look at the environment, that room is not in the Senate. You can visit the Senate to see the offices. There are no offices that have that kind of architecture. Come to our offices.
“I will open about 10 offices for you to see. There is no office architectural configuration like that. No architecture like that in the Senate.
“And there’s nobody that looks like that. You can come to the Senate; I will grant you access. My conclusion is that it is not true that the man in the video is a senator or that the incident happened in the Senate. That is not the Senate and that is not one of our senators.
“There is no place like that in the Senate. And that is not the picture of any senator that we know,” he insisted.
