SEGUN ONI – TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED, AND DO HIM NO HARM, By Bayo Arowolaju

With the Triumphal entry of Chief Segun Oni into Ekiti from Abuja on Tuesday 1st of March 2022, Segun Oni started a new chapter in the chequered history of Ekiti State, its people and himself.

He was returning from Abuja where he was presented the flag of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as the Flag Bearer of the party in the Ekiti State governorship election on June 18, 2022. Why SDP and not PDP is history and no longer news to political participants and observers, in Ekiti, Nigeria, and in Diaspora, which we don’t have to repeat here.

Suffice it however to reiterate the fact that Segun Oni being the governorship candidate of the SDP and his triumphal entry into Ekiti bearing the flag of the party amongst a mammoth crowd of supporters and well-wishers was uniquely sine qua non.

This was occasioned by the numerous lies, innuendos, and insinuations trending among his political foes, opponents, especially those who doesn’t wish him well and who didn’t wish that he got any party’s ticket at all. These were the works and expectations of his ‘enemies’ and those who never wish Ekiti well, who were ready to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to scuttle every opportunity to get any party’s ticket. Why is there so much hate for Segun Oni?

But the Bible says, why do the heathen rage? And touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm, which comes from Psalm 105 verse 15. And these words of God were directed to the children of Israel to whom God said, “Fear not: for I have redeemed you, I have called you by my name, you are mine.

But let us see the meaning and application of the word “anointed,” as used in Psalm 105 verse 15. In Hebrew, the original word is “mashiyach’ meaning a consecrated person; could be a king, priest, or saint. Someone set apart by God for a divine purpose like Jesus the Messiah. The children of God are specially set aside of and for God as confirmed by Deuteronomy 14:2. You have been set apart as holy to the Lord your God, and he has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be his special treasure.

And 1 Peter 2:9 says, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
By biblical application, therefore, every child of God is anointed of God and should not be touched by an evil one.

The warning or instruction ‘Touch not my anointed, is to the evil ones who were trying to overcome Israel at the time and we know how God dealt with every nation who attempted to harm the Israelites throughout the Bible starting from Pharaoh. The same thing is still applicable today.

Everybody who knows Chief Segun Oni sees him as a godly man, with humility, transparency that typify an OMOLUABI per excellent. Even his enemies accord him that respect, which is why the majority of Ekiti people wants him as their governor by October 2022, when the current term of office of Governor Dr. John Kayode Fayemi expires.

How does Segun Oni fit into the Biblical expression of anointed of God, which captioned this write-up? Simply put, Chief Olusegun Oni has been forthcoming in the service of his people in godliness for a very long time. The energy and resources devoted to this were also recognized by the Methodist Church Cathedral Ifaki Ekiti, his birthplace, where he was conferred with the title of BABA EGBE and where he has been one of the pillars of the church.

In his private life, he has been a consistent prayerful person in which prayer and fasting have been the bricks and mortals of his life. God has been his Shepherd and Counselor, the supplier of his needs, which is why greed, avarice and corruption have no place in his lexicon but where contentment reigns supreme. Segun Oni waits and depends on God for every action of his.

And God has always been faithful and sufficient for his needs. All these Godly characteristics are what qualified him for being consecrated or anointed. And what the community saw to make him their ASIWAJU.

Segun Oni has always been a helper to people, far and near. He has always provided services to people in and around him either in Ifaki his home town and everywhere he had ever found himself. He described himself as Mr. Turnaround or what I have called Mr. Fix it or a Change Agent. Where problems exist, he moved in to provide solutions.

Of all the Governors and Administrators before and after him in office, no one has ever been like him. When the retirees and pensioners were owed billions of Naira for year’s by Ondo and Ekiti States’ governments, he cleared the arrears of states’ debt. He did not owe any month’s pay or allowances yet executed soul lifting projects in all the sectors of the state and in all the communities. And the beauty of it all, without leaving a penny as debt behind but millions of Naira as savings in the government accounts.

The same qualities of peoples centered services his enemies saw in him that led to his physical and legal persecutions before, during and after office. But the same the appreciative masses saw in him, which is making them want him back even when the powers that be are persecuting and rejecting him.

In 2006, they rejected him through the primary election of the PDP but God restored him. Between 2006 and 2010, like the Scribes and Sanhedrin at the Jerusalem’s Temple, rejected Jesus, the leadership of the Court rejected Segun Oni. From the APC primary of 2018, the powers that be or the so-called cabals in the villa and the judiciary conspired to reject him again because he will not compromise his godly nature in him. Because he will not serve God and mammon. He will not surrender his soul on the altar of politics.

And they got a replacement in who will serve a mammon alone.
In 2021 there they came again in a renewed conspiracy for crucifixion. The evil people united in opposition to the will of God albeit temporarily. Two IFA worshipers conspired to deny the people what God had ordained for them. But here is God questioning them:
“Why do the nations conspire and the peoples’ plot in vain? The kings of the earth rise and the rulers band together against the Lord and his anointed, saying, “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to Segun Oni “You are my son; today I have become your father. Ask me, and I will make the nations (foes) your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.” Therefore, you Governors be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.” Psalms‬ ‭2:1-5, 7-12‬ ‭NIV. On Oke Ayoba the Words of God shall be fulfilled for OLUWASEGUN OMO ONI COME OCTOBER 2022.

This is coupled with the warning of the Almighty God to the two IFA priests who are political godfathers. God said: TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTING OLUWASEGUN ADEBAYO ONI AND DO MY SON NO HARM, Anybody who disregards these warnings do so at his perils and with very serious consequences.

I know they are preparing to use conventional and unconventional weapons and forces against Segun Oni, the SDP, their members and supporters. Please God is on the side of Oluwasegun, Ekiti People, and the Social Democratic Party. All your conventional and unconventional forces or armies, including your judges cannot resist or overcome the LORD MOST HIGH, THE COMMANDER OF THE HOAST OF HEAVEN.

“Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment.”
Ekiti people have suffered enough, Segun Oni is specifically anointed for this moment and for such a time as this and all the people are shouting daily:

EKITI KO’YA
IYA YI TOO GEE.
