Segun Oni files petition against Ekiti June 18 governorship election, challenges APC’s victory

It is not yet celebration time for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State as the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, in the June 18 governorship election in Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni, has submitted his petition against the outcome of the Election.

Oni was accompanied to the secretariat of the Election Petitions Tribunal, in Ado Ekiti, by his counsel, Mr Owoseni Ajayi and Femi Ogele, to set the stage for a legal battle whose outcome lies in the womb of time.

Others who accompanied the SDP candidate were Dipo Anisulowo and the Director General of his campaign organization, Ambassador Dare Bejide.

The 195-page petition was submitted to the Secretary of the Election Petition.

Recall that Oni came second in the governorship poll behind the candidate of the APC, Mr Abiodun Oyebanji.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bisi Kolawole had come third in the poll.
