Sagbama Local Government has presented transparency briefing of the income and expenditure profile of the Council for August, September and October 2023 at the Council Executive Conference Hall.
The Chairman of Sagbama Local Government, Hon. Richman Samuel Ebipadei represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Sunday Macaulay in his opening remarks, said the transparency briefing is presented in line with the transparency law of Bayelsa State to give account of Income received from JAAC and internally generated revenue of the Council.
He thanked members of the Caretaker Committee, Principal Officers and staff members of the Council for attending the briefing.
Giving the breakdown of the Income and Expenditure profile of the Council, the Director of Finance and Treasury,, Dr. Israel Apreala(Ph.D) said total receipts from Joint Account Allocation Committee(JAAC) for August was Three Hundred and Seven Million, Nine Hundred and Forty-forty Thousand, Fifty Naira, Firty Two Kobo( N307, 944,50.52) and the internally generated revenue stood at One Hundred and Ninety Three Thousand Naira only(N193,000.00) which brought the total inflow of the month of August to Three Hundred and Eight Million, One Hundred Thirty Seven Thousand, Five Hundred and Eighty Naira, Fifty Two Kobo (N308, 137,580.52)
On Statutory payments, Dr. Israel Apreala listed training, pension, common services, Algon, Utility, staff, teachers and health workers salaries and overhead cost amounting to total payment of Three Hundred and Eight Million, One Hundred and Thirty Seven Thousand Five Hundred and Eighty Naira Fifty Two Kobo.
For September, Dr. Israel Apreala informed that total receipts from JAAC was Two Hundred and Seventy Million, Eight Hundred and Fourteen Thousand, Two Hundred One Naira, Twenty Two Kobo(N270, 814, 201.22), internally generated revenue , Two Hundred Thousand Naira, funds received from savings Nine Hundred and Forty Eight Million, Seven Hundred and Twenty Six Thousand, Five Hundred and Seventy One Naira, Thirteen Kobo(N948, 726, 571.13) which brought the total inflow of September to One Billion, Two Hundred and Nineteen Million, Seven Hundred and Forty Thousand, Seven Hundred and Seventy Two Naira, Thirty Six Kobo(N1,219, 740,772.36)
According to Dr. Israel Apreala, Statutory deductions on pension alone gulped Seven Million, Six Hundred Firty Two Thousand, Five Hundred and Sixty Eight Naira, Fifty Two Kobo(N17, 652, 568.52), capital cost, Forty Eight Million, Five Hundred and Thirty Seven Thousand,, Five Hundred and Forty Three Naira, Two Seventy Kobo(N48, 537, 543. 27). Other payments he said were training, pensions, common services, teachers salaries and salary arrears, palliatives, recurrent and overhead cost took a chunk of Two Hundred and Twenty Two Million, Four Hundred and Seventy Six Thousand, Six Hundred Fifty Seven Naira, Ninety Six Kobo( N222, 476, 657.96)
According the Director Finance and Treasury, Dr. Israel Apraela, special 30% payments on pension, gratuities and death benefits brought the total payment of September to One Billion Two Hundred and Nineteen Million, Seven Hundred and Forty Thousand, Seven Hundred and Seventy Two Naira, Thirty Six Kobo (N1, 219,740,772.39)
In the month of October Dr.Israel Apreala explained that total receipts from JAAC stood at Two Hundred and Seventy Eight Million , Eight Hundred and Fiteen Thousand, Two Hundred and Forty Five Naira, Four Kobo. (N278,815,245.04), internally generated revenue was One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira, funds received from savings Four Hundred and Five Million, Four Hundred and Forty Six Naira, Three Hundred and Three Naira, Forty Six Kobo.(N405,446,303.46)
Two months projects funds, Twenty Three Million, Four Hundred and Ninety Eight Thousand, Three Hundred Eighty Seven Naira, Thirty Five Kobo(N23, 498, 387.35) which placed the total inflow of October at Seven Hundred and Seven Million, Eight Hundred Seventy Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred and Thirty Five Naira, Eighy Five Kobo(N707, 879,935.85)
According to Dr. Israel Apraela statutory deductions on pension gulped Eighteen Million, Four Hundred and Eighteen Thousand, Four Hundred and Seventy Nine Naira, Ninety Kobo,(N18, 418,479.90)
Other payments Dr. Israel Apraela explained for the month include deductions on Algon, immunization, staff, teachers, health workers salaries recurrent cost and capital projects cost payment gulped Four Hundred and Thirty Four Million, Eight Hundred and Ninety Six Thousand , Nine Hundred Fifty Naira, Ninety Eight Kobo, on ongoing renovation at the Council Secretariat, construction of concrete walkway at Okumbiri town and other costs brought the total payment of the month to Seven Hundred and Seven Million, Eight Hundred and Seventy Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred Thirty Six Naira, Eighty Six Kobo (N707,879,936.86)
The Director of Administration and General Services , Dr.Noel Omubo while giving the vote of thanks commended the Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Richman Samuel Ebipadei for organizing the transparency briefing and lauded Dr. Israel Apraela for his brilliant presentation.
