The management and staff members of Sagbama Local Government have flagged off Yellow Fever Vaccination in the Council Area.
In her opening remarks at the Sagbama Community Pavillion, venue of the flag off, the Head of Local Government Administration and acting Council Chairman, Mrs Jack Ayebaye Jacqueline, represented by the Principal Administration Officer, Chief Oyeindinepere Kpodo, said the Yellow Fever Vaccination was conducted throughout the state in line with Governor Douye Diri’s directives to Local Government to ensure effective administration of the Yellow Fever Vaccine for the survival of children and future of Bayelsa State.
Mrs Jack Ayebaye Jacqueline charged health officers to put in their best to attain 100% success and assured them of the State and Local Governments’ support.
Director, Primary Healthcare, Sagbama Local Government, Mrs Pinaere Salima Robert, in her remarks, stated that Yellow Fever was a virus and infectious disease that could be prevented through vaccination.
Mrs Pinaere Salima Robert urged the good people of Sagbama to embrace the vaccination.
She said those from 9 months to 44 years can take the vaccination.
The Amananaowei of Sagbama, His Royal Highness Moses Ozo Manager, represented by High Chief Ikisa, said the Traditional Rulers Council would rally round members of the community to take the vaccine.
Dr Ezaezona Nimfor, representing Affiney Nigeria, partnership organization, informed the people that the vaccination exercise was an integrated package ranging from Yellow Fever, misealse, polio, and COVID-19, among others, and urged every one to take the viccine, saying that it was safe, effective and free.
Those who took the vacination included representative of the Head of Administration and Acting Council Chairman, Chief Oyeindinepere Stephen Kpodo, Director of Administration and General Services, Mrs Belinda Efebo, Director Finance and Treasury, Dr Israel Apreala, (Ph.D,) representative of the Divisional Police Officer of Sagbama, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Odumo Patrick, PFN Chairman Sagbama, Pastor Paul Binaebi Omu.
Others were CDC Chairman Sagbama, Ekperi Kenikeye represented by Duwenson Ezuwei, High Chief John Kosikimi, Director National Orientation Agency, Sagbama, Musa Boloizigha, Mrs. Evans Miebokumo, Mama Omu Penninah, students of various schools in Sagbama, and elders among others.
