Royal father sues for continuous cooperation with Army

The paramount ruler of Eleme, His Royal Highness, Sir (Dr) Emere Emperor Nkpe JD Nkpe II JP, known as the Oneh-Eh Alesa, sought continued support and cooperation from the Army in his domain.

The esteemed royal leader made this appeal during a courtesy visit to Major General Jamal Abdussalam, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 6 Division Nigerian Army and Land Component Commander of Joint Task Force (South South) Operation Delta Safe.

The visit took place on July 18, 2023.

The purpose of the visit was to congratulate Major General Jamal Abdussalam on assuming command as the 10th General Officer Commanding, and also to reinforce the strong bond between the Eleme community and the Army.

The Oneh-Eh Alesa expressed gratitude for the longstanding harmonious relationship that his community has enjoyed with the military.

He highlighted how the presence of soldiers guarding strategic national assets, such as the Eleme petrochemical refinery, has contributed to the low crime rate in the area.

During the visit, the Oneh-Eh Alesa assured the General Officer Commanding of the community’s continued commitment to supporting the soldiers stationed in Eleme.

He requested an increased deployment of troops to keep up with the ongoing infrastructural development in the area.

The Oneh-Eh Alesa presented stickers that he had produced to promote military operations both within and beyond his community, aiming to raise awareness among the public.

In response, Major General Jamal Abdussalam expressed his gratitude for the visit and appreciated the royal father’s support to the military.

He commended the efforts made by the Oneh-Eh Alesa in printing posters and stickers, considering them as highly commendable gestures. He assured the royal leader of the Division’s continuous support to the community and encouraged them to maintain their unwavering backing to the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The visit, souvenirs were exchanged, and the royal father presented copies of a book, posters, stickers, and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.

The meeting between the Oneh-Eh Alesa and Major General Jamal Abdussalam emphasized the mutual respect and collaboration between the Eleme community and the Nigerian Army, affirming their commitment to each other’s well-being and development.
