24-year-old man in court for alleged theft of cable worth N270,000

A 24-year-old man, Oladimeji Abdulahi, on Friday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, for alleged house breaking and theft of electric wire worth N270,000.

Abdulahi, whose address was not provided, is facing three-count charge of house breaking, stealing and malicious damage, preferred against him by the police.

The Prosecutor, Insp Olalekan Adegbite, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Nov. 20, at about 10.10 a.m, at Odo-Ona Kekere, Ibadan.

Adegbite said the defendant broke into the house of one Abiodun Adesola, damaged the ceiling and stole electrical wires worth N270,000.

He said the offences contravened Sections 390(9), 413 and 451 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs Oluwabusayo Osho granted him bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.

She, thereafter, adjourned the case until Jan. 13, 2025, for hearing. (NAN)
