The ADC national secretariat turned rowdy on Thursday as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the 2027 presidential race.
Supporters and loyalists swarmed the party headquarters ahead of his arrival, overwhelming security and private bouncers at the entrance. Witnesses said the crowd forced its way into the hall, damaging doors in the process.
The surge disrupted activities briefly, with journalists and invited guests struggling for space as the hall filled up. Some reporters were pushed aside when supporters breached the entrance, rushing in “like a swarm of bees.”
Despite the excitement, Atiku did not speak to the press. He reportedly left through an underground basement route, leaving reporters who waited at the main entrance stranded.
