Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, on Saturday, stormed Agbo Hotel at Ajaawa community in Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo state, abducting a family of ten.
The abductors, who invaded the hotel about 10.pm on Saturday, took away the owner of the hotel, Hon. Olukunle Oyedokun, his younger wife, his baby, two daughters, grand-daughter, sister-in-law with her son and a guest, according to a Radion Nigeria report.
The gunmen were said to have fired sporadic shots into the air, after which they seized the ten victims and took them to an unknown destination through the bush.
Two of those in the hotel when the kidnappers struck fortunately escaped being abducted.
Radio Nigeria quoted a family source to have said that the hotelier was preparing for his father’s burial on Friday, this week.
The kidnappers had, as learnt, initiated a call through the victims’ phones to their family members on Sunday, demanding N15 million as ransom.
A police patrol team, which was said to have raced to the scene on hearing the gunshots, swiftly put together some police operatives, Amotekun Corps, local hunters and vigilance group members to comb through the bush, in search-and-rescue operations.
