“Reward Me or Shoot Me”: Broke APC loyalist stagesone, desperate protest in Abuja

A man in APC colours stood alone on an Abuja street this week, clutching a handwritten banner that read like a cry for help — or a dare.

“All Progressives Congress — Reward me or kill me. I am a party man and not a lunatic. I have lost so much for the party. I am depressed and my health is affected.”

The one-man protest, now viral, shows him in a blue polo, black trousers, and matching fez cap. No crowd. No chants. Just him, his placard, and a story of ruin.

“I sold my house because of the debt I owed due to the work wey I do for APC, and at the end of it, no reward,” he told stunned bystanders, slipping into pidgin.

Then came the darker claim: “Rather than help, the CSO threatened that they will shoot me and nothing will happen.” He offered no names, no proof. Just the accusation, hanging in the air.

His voice cracked as he spoke of his children. “Since yesterday, I don’t know where my children are. I dropped them with the CSO and APC because I could no longer take care of them or pay their school fees.”

Pressed on who sent him, he jabbed at the faces printed on his T-shirt — APC leaders. “See the people wey send me,” he said.

The video has exploded online. Some viewers are demanding answers from the party. Others are questioning his story, asking for receipts. Mental health advocates are raising alarms about his claim of depression.

As of press time, the APC has not responded. No official has addressed the allegations or the man’s condition.

What started as a political stunt now looks like something else: a warning sign. One man, broke and broken, standing in the open, asking his party to either pay up — or pull the trigger.
