Bolarinwa Oyegoke Babalakin, an influential judge, who retired as a Supreme Court justice, has died.
He was aged 94.
Mr Babalakin, who was called to the London Bar in the late 1950s, died on Saturday morning
Chairman, Ayedaade Local Government Area, Gbongan, Osun state, Ayo Toyosi, confirmed the late jurist’s death.
Justice Babalakin was a devout Muslim and an active member of the Muslim Association Of Nigeria, Ansarudeen society.
He was also a former president of the Muslim Ummah of South-West Nigeria (MUSWEN).
The deceased is survived by many children and grand children, among whom are billionaire businessman, Dr Bolanle Babalakin (SAN), chairman of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd, and Architect Tayo Babalakin, among others.
