The United States on Tuesday handed over 200 brand-new ventilators to the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire in support of Nigeria’s efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new ventilators were handed over to Minister of Health Dr Osagie Ehanire by the United States Ambassador, Mary Beth Leonard.
“This donation, and the many other health and humanitarian assistance programs offered by the American people over the years, is just one component of the strong cooperation between our two governments,” Ambassador Leonard said at the ceremony.

Dr Ehanire said the ventilators would certainly be of great benefit to the people of Nigeria.
“These ventilators will certainly be of great benefit to the people of Nigeria,” said Dr Ehanire.

The ventilators were a promise by President Donald Trump during a phone conversation with President Muhammadu Buhari in April.
