Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr Femi Adesina on Friday gave an insight into the decision by the Presidency to exclude the Lekki shootings of #EndSARS protesters from the content of the president’s nationwide broadcast on Thursday.
Nigerians have been miffed that the president didn’t mention anything about the shootings of #ENDSARS protesters in Lekki on Tuesday night in the broadcast.
Responding to the issue on Friday night during his appearance on Channels TV’s “Politics Today”, Adesina said the issue was sidestepped because it would be “premature and presumptuous” to speak on it.
Adesina said the President couldn’t have said anything about the shootings because the incident was being investigated.
According to him: “The Defence Headquarters issued a statement to say that it was investigating the matter. Lagos State Governor has also set up a probe panel to investigate what really happened.”
