Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched a detailed investigation into a fatal accident allegedly caused by touts, which resulted in four fatalities in Abuja on Wednesday.

Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja.

According to Adeh, the incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway near Mabushi Underbridge.

She explained, “Preliminary findings show that a grey Toyota Highlander, registration number ABJ 206 EC, driven by Emeka Ehekweme with his wife onboard, was intercepted by three unidentified suspects near Berger Junction, Utako.”

The suspects forcibly entered the vehicle, leading to a struggle for control of the steering wheel. “

This caused the vehicle to veer out of control, collide with a parked Mazda, and somersault into a bridge pillar,” Adeh added.
