The Nigeria Police Force, through the NPF National Cybercrime Centre, has apprehended a Nigerian prankster, Mr. Ubani Zion Chibuike, known as ZFancy, at an apartment in Wuye, Abuja.
The arrest followed the circulation of accusatory videos on social media, in which ZFancy was alleged to have committed serious crimes, including rape.
According to ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, these videos caused considerable apprehension among social media users. ZFancy later claimed that the videos were scripted as part of his attempt to regain the spotlight after a break.
Despite this, such actions have significant implications and cannot be taken lightly.
The Nigeria Police Force is dedicated to maintaining public safety and ensuring accountability for actions that incite fear or disturb public peace.
ACP Adejobi warned pranksters and content creators to be law-abiding and mindful of pranks and content that could threaten public security. He urged the public to remain calm as the necessary legal actions proceed in this case.
