Police in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) have charged two men for allegedly attempting to use a drone to deliver methamphetamine.
According to the NSW police on Thursday, officers on duty reported of two men acting suspiciously at a residential complex in the city of Wollongong, 68 kilometers south of Sydney, on Tuesday night.
Police arrived at the scene and found the two men, aged 43 and 24, who told officers that they were searching for a drone that had crashed within the complex.
A damaged drone carrying a bag containing 66 grams of methamphetamine was found at the scene by police following a search.
The two men were arrested and a subsequent search of a Wollongong home on Wednesday located another 42 grams of methamphetamine, an electronic stun device and 4,350 Australian dollars (3,100.4 U.S. dollars) in cash.

Trader arraigned over alleged N14m rice supply fraud

Both men were charged with supplying such quantity of a prohibited drug.
Police said it would be alleged in court that the men were using the drone to deliver drugs in the area when it crashed.
If convicted, both faced maximum penalties of 15 years’ imprisonment.
