The House of Representatives, on Thursday, stepped down the report on the harmonization committee on the Petroleum Industry Bill.

This followed the outcome of the closed-door session earlier convened before the commencement of Thursday plenary.

The Speaker, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, who presided at the plenary made the announcement on the floor but could not give further reasons for the house decision.

It would appear that the harmonization committee report on PIB would not be looked into during the National Assembly recess because the Speaker, in his remarks for the last plenary session before the recess noted that only the House committees on Finance and Defence would be allowed to meet.

However, it was learnt that the Senate had decided to reach an agreement on the harmonization committee report.
