The Peoples Democratic Party has waived the screening requirement for former President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of its presidential primary, clearing him for direct participation in the process.
The decision was announced Tuesday in Abuja by the party’s screening committee, chaired by former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu. PDP National Chairman Kabiru Turaki led the committee meeting where the waiver was confirmed.
The move exempts Jonathan from the standard screening procedure required of other aspirants.
Party officials did not immediately give a reason for the waiver.
