PDP might lose Rivers State if the NWC allows Tinubu to arbitrate, By Amb. Tony Okonigene

President-elect, Bola Tinubu and Governor Nyesome Wike

The orchestrated crisis in Rivers state is aimed at twisting the arms of the Governor into surrendering to President Bola Tinubu and invariably, the APC.

It does not take a soothsayer’s prophecy to see the game the President and Nyesom Wike are playing.

The President has conveniently decided to play the role of an arbiter. That the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP is allowing this game to play on is what baffles me.

How can your son be fighting with the son of your enemy and you allow your enemy to broker peace? You will eventually lose your son’s loyalty to your enemy.

The plan is to box Governor Fubara into a corner where he will see President Tinubu as his only hope not to draw.

Anyone who has followed the political ideology of President Tinubu knows that he takes no prisoner. I can bet that one of the conditions the President will give to Governor Fubara in order to continue to enjoy his support will be for the Governor to decamp to APC.

This is the whole essence of the role Wike has been assigned to play for the president and APC.

The only reason why Wike has not formally decamped to the APC is because he has yet to scatter the PDP in Rivers and Edo. After the mission in Rivers State, Wike will face Edo State. The 2024 Edo governorship elections outcome will determine whether the President will continue to keep Wike as his agent of destruction within the PDP or not.

Why is the PDP NWC allowing Governor Fubara to go to the President for a meeting to settle him and Wike? I am honestly at a loss. If this continues, the PDP will lose the governor to APC. Let the PDP tackle this obvious agent of destruction within the party once and for all.

One thing is for sure, and that is the fact that Wike is in for a battle that will end his political abracadabra if he comes to interfere in the Edo PDP governorship primary and the election.

We know his game. We know his foot soldiers, and we are ready for him.
