bia State Governor, Alex Otti, has responded to the increasing wave of criticism directed at his administration, urging residents and supporters to disregard what he described as needless distractions.
The governor made the remarks while speaking at a public event, where he downplayed the attacks, insisting they were nothing more than background noise.
According to him, those making the loudest complaints often have the least relevance.
“I want us to just dismiss it as noise. It’s always the empty barrel that makes the loudest noise. They are a tiny minority, and God doesn’t make mistakes,” Otti said.
His comments were made amid rising political exchanges and public debates over governance in Abia State.
Only days earlier, former Abia State governor and current senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, had criticised Otti’s administration, alleging that the government had been largely inactive.
Kalu claimed the current leadership was merely repainting and rehabilitating roads constructed during his time in office.
The former governor also took the opportunity to promote his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing confidence that the party would deliver better governance for the people of the state.
Governor Otti, however, appeared unfazed by the criticism, stressing that his administration remained firmly focused on its development plans and service delivery.
As political tensions continue to build in Abia State, the governor’s message was clear: he is staying the course, undistracted by opposition voices and committed to fulfilling the mandate given to him by the people. [With GWG report]
