The Osun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr Abdulkadir Sulu Alao, has charged the newly-promoted officers of the command to be up and doing and psychologically prepared for the task ahead.
The Commandant made this charge on Thursday while decorating the promoted officers.
Commandant Sulu said the celebration was supposed to be an elaborate one, saying the challenges of the inauguration of the new state headquarters made the event to be low-key.
The Commandant charged the newly- decorated officers to remember that “promotion comes with higher responsibilities and the seats of Assistant Commandant and Deputy Commandant will be hotter.”
He said they must be ready in all ramifications for the task ahead.
The State Commandant appealed to the officers who had yet to benefit from the promotion exercise not to loose hope as their day of Joy would surely come.
While speaking at the event, the Head of Administrations, DC Ibrahim Atanda lauded the newly-promoted officers for an impressive punctuality and turnout at the event, adding that the action showed they deserved the honour.
Deputy Commandant, Olufemi Awofade, who spoke on behalf of the newly- decorated officers ascribed the glory of their promotion to God.
He thanked the Commandant General, Mr Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu, for the opportunity and appreciated the State Commandant for organising the event while promising to put in their best in the service of fatherland.
The newly-promoted officers and men were highly elated as they were decorated.
