Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, on behalf of the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has promised to work in synergy with the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
This is as the Commissioner described the government of Governor Ademola Adeleke as people-friendly and development-oriented.
Alimi met minds witj the NUJ Osun State Council executives led by its Chairman, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu, during a courtesy call paid on him in his office on Friday.
Oluomo Alimi, who spoke on the power of the pen, tasked the media professionals on the need for thorough fact finding before going to the press with any story.
Speaking on the achievements of the current administration in the State in the last eight months, Alimi, who took time to itemize the multivarious projects executed, adjudged the State helmsman as a performing Governor.
In his earlier remarks, the State Chairman on NUJ, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu appreciated Governor Adeleke for the appointment of the Commissioner and for the first time, the appointment of a professional Journalist as a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry.
He stated that Osun Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists will uphold its tenets of news dissemination by informing all of the activities of the government through various media of communication.
Ajadosu, who welcomed the Commissioner into the information fold, said the union looked forward to having a robust working relationship with the government of Ademola Adeleke through the Ministry.
In her vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Abimbola Babatunde thanked the Osun Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists for the honor of identifying with the Commissioner, she declared the readiness of the Ministry to collaborate with NUJ.
The courtesy call at which the executive members of the Union were present, was also graced by the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Public Enlightenment, Mr. Eniola Odeniyi.
