Osun HoS lauds Adeleke for prioritizing workers’ training

Mr Ayanleye Aina, the Head of Service in Osun State, has praised the State Government for prioritizing staff members’ training and retraining, stating that it would improve their effectiveness and efficiency, resulting in increased productivity.

He made this comment during an orientation programme in Osogbo for newly converted officers in the Departments of Works, Town Planning and Land Services at the local government level.

During the induction training, which was organized by the State Local Government Service Commission, Aina emphasized that such training would broaden the employees’ knowledge and enable them to stay up to date with new developments in their profession.

He also urged the resource persons to make the training practical and interactive to enhance the officers’ effectiveness and productivity.

In his welcome address, the Coordinating Director in the Commission, Barr. Lekan Babalola, appreciated Governor Adeleke for his people-friendly policies and charged the new officers to spread the governor’s amiable disposition throughout the State.

He also commended the Head of Service for his efforts in making the induction training a reality.

The Chairman Forum of Engineers, Engr. Taofeek Ajibade, who was represented by Engr. Adewumi Busayo, viewed the training as an opportunity to sharpen their skills and continue to play a crucial role in dispensing dividends of democracy to the society.

He urged his colleagues to take advantage of the training to tap into the right direction with loyalty to the government of the day.

The Forum Chairman for the Town Planning and Land Services Departments in the Local Government Service, TPL Rauf Adekola Maruf, emphasized the need to marry physical and social infrastructure facilities to secure a sustainable environment.

He promised, on behalf of his colleagues, to take the gains of the training to their various duty posts for proper implementation.

The training covered topics such as “Cost Effective Construction and Maintenance of Public Infrastructure: The Sustainable Development Approach” and “Public Service Ethics and Local Government Administration: The Role of Professionals in the Works, Town Planning and Land Services Departments,” which were handled by Professor John Agbonifo and Mr. Kolawole Najeem Akintola.
