Osun State Government has sealed off Oroyemi Orphanage Home in Ile-Ife over allegations of gross misconduct.
The state Commissioner, Ministry of Women, Children and Social Affairs, Barrister Olubukola Olaboopo while speaking with newsmen said the orphanage home in question was sealed off after a series of monitoring and warnings from the ministry, which it rebuffed.
The Commissioner emphasised that abuse, maltreatment of wards at orphanages and flagrant disregard of operational laws and procedures would not be entertained by the State.
While appreciating members of staff of the ministry who worked as the task force and directed the licence of the orphanage home situated at Opa area in Ile-Ife, to be revoked the premises sealed off, the Commissioner mentioned that 46 children, 3 women were evacuated and all were in the custody of the state government doing well.
