Osun 2022 – Lasun now labour party’s governorship candidate

Ahead of the Osun State governorship election,former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Lasun Yussuff, on Thursday defected to Labour Party, LP.

He will be flying the flag of the party in the forthcoming July 16, 2022 governorship election in the state.

Recall, the ex-Deputy Speaker had recently resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Lasun submitted his resignation letter on Friday , March 25, 2022 at the APC secretariat in Osogbo, the Osun capital.

In his acceptance speech at the party’s primary election where he finally emerged the Labour Party’s governorship candidate held at the State Council of the NUJ’s main hall, Lasun said he is going to work assiduously in transforming the entire state for better.

While appreciating the entire members of the Labour Party for adopting him to represent the party in the coming governorship election in the state, he said his major programmes would have direct access to all and sundry across the state.

According to Lasun, “I promise not to let you down in all ramifications and my representation will transform the entire state with my complete efforts on health, agriculture, education and empowerment while I would make Osun a food basket of the nation.

“My administration would create enabling environment for investors.”

He later announced one Adeola Adekunle Atanda from Iwo town as his running mate.

In his welcome address, the State Chairman of the party, Prince Bello Adebayo enjoined members of the party to eschew violence before, during and after the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Prince Adebayo further called on the members across the state to work assiduously towards the total victory of the party.

The programme witnessed the attendance of the National Chairman of the party, Barrister Julius Abure, who was represented by the National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Abayomi Arabanbi and the National Legal Adviser, Barrister Samuel Oyelekan.

All Labour Party leaders and members all over the state attended the programme.
