▪︎University of Benin approves use of Sports complex for event
The Vice-President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, is leading a Presidential delegation to the flag-off of the All Ptogressives Congress (APC) party’s governorship campaign in Benin City on Saturday, August 8.
The venue is the Main Bowl of the University of Benin Sports Complex, Ugbowo, Benin City. The choice of the venue followed the orchestrated plot by the State Government to deny the APC the use of the Damuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
Following a presidential intervention, bring a federal institution, the authorities of the University of Benin were instructed to make the Sports Complex available to the APC.
Vice President Osinbajo is leading the presidential delegation because President Muhammadu Buhari, who would have loved to be in Benin after his last visit in 2016, when Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was governor, would be restricted to Abuja due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari was billed to meet the party’s candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and his running mate, Malam Gani Audu, on Thursday, August 6, in Presidentual Villa, Abuja.
