The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has felicitated Hon. Jacob Edi, the former Chairman of the Council, on his conferment with the traditional title of “Kakaki of Bassange” in Kogi State.
The felicitation was contained in a press statement signed by the Secretary of Council, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, on Friday, in Abuja.
The conferment will be carried out by ETSU BASSANGE HRM BRIG.GEN. Abu Ali and on December 27, 2024, at the Central Primary School Gbokolo, the Traditional Headquarters of Bassange Kingdom by 10am in Kogi State.
The title is in recognition of the positive impact and immense contributions he has made as media icon in the development of Bassange community and Kogi State at large.
“The leadership of NUJ FCT Council is using this medium to congratulate Hon.Jacob Edi, a man of proven integrity and reputation on your conferment of the Traditional title of ” Kakaki of Bassange.
“This prestigious honour is a testament to your exemplary service, dedication, and contributions to your community.

“The recognition you have received is well-deserved, and it reflects the high regard in which you are held by your peers and the community at large.
Hon.Jacob Edi, according to the statement, deserves the traditional title for his outstanding and remarkable performance in the media industry, leadership, peace, and nation building.
“You have built bridges across ethnic and religious divide, and even beyond your journalism profession.
“We are confident that you will continue to inspire and lead with the same passion and integrity that you have always demonstrated. Your leadership will undoubtedly contribute to the advancement and unity of peace loving Bassange people.
“We hope this traditional title of ‘Kakaki of Bassange’ will further spur you to do more as a unifying factor in your community and the country as a whole.
