NTA DG, Salihu Dembos; Ace TV producer, Peter Igho, mourn Joy Osiagwu

Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Salihu Abdulhamid Dembos and former Executive Producer of scintillating TV series-“Cock crows at dawn”, Dr Peter Igho have mourned a former NTA newscaster, Mrs Joy Osiagwu.

Mrs Osiagwu died in Abuja on Friday, last week, in a brief illness.

In a condolence message to her family, on behalf of the NTA family, the DG, Dembos, said: “We at the Nigerian Television Authority are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Joy Osiagwu, a cherished former colleague, respected reporter, and accomplished news caster.

“Joy embodied the spirit of journalism with her unwavering dedication, integrity, and passion.

“She brought to her role not only an exceptional talent for storytelling but also a deep sense of responsibility to the truth.

“Throughout her career, Joy’s professionalism and commitment set a high standard, inspiring both her colleagues and viewers across the nation.

“Her voice was a trusted source of news, her presence a steady guide during pivotal moments in our country’s history.

“She truly became part of the fabric of NTA, and her contributions remain etched in the foundation of our mission.

“On behalf of the Nigerian Television Authority, I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all who had the honour to work alongside her.

May her soul rest in peace, and may her family find comfort in knowing the profound impact she had on the field of journalism and the lives of countless Nigerians.”

Dr Peter Igho, who was DG of National Lottery Commission, said: “I received the news of Joy Osiagwu ‘s passing away with deep shock and sadness.

“Joy was a deeply committed Tv broadcaster whose dedication to all she handled both off air and on air was inspiring and remarkable.

“My sincere condolences to the management and staff of NTA, millions of tv viewers and her immediate family and friends.

“She will be sorely missed by all who knew her and loved her.

“May the Almighty grant her eternal peace and the family and friends the strength to bear her loss, Amen.”
