The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed over 56,000 personnel and tactical squads across the country to secure the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The deployment, approved by Commandant General Prof. Ahmed Audi, includes operational vehicles, ambulances, boats, and K9 units to support rapid emergency response and protect critical national assets and infrastructure.
All specialized tactical units, including the Mining Marshals, Special Intelligence Squad, Crack Squad, Female Special Force, and Rapid Response Squad, have been placed on red alert, according to NSCDC National Public Relations Officer ACC Babawale Afolabi.
Zonal Commanders were directed to supervise operations in their jurisdictions and work with State Commandants to ensure compliance with the operational order. State Commandants are also tasked with monitoring Area Commanders, Divisional Officers, and Outpost Heads to implement the security plan nationwide.
The Corps said it is collaborating with other security agencies and urged the public to provide timely information on suspicious activities. It warned that anyone caught vandalizing public infrastructure or disrupting public peace would be arrested and prosecuted.
