NNPC Foundation has commissioned and handed over a 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging system to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, Anambra State.

The project included installation, calibration and inauguration of the MRI alongside supporting infrastructure such as RF shielding, chillers, backup UPS systems, ventilation, CCTV, oxygen monitoring and patient communication facilities.

NNPC said the facility is expected to expand access to advanced diagnostic imaging for patients across Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi and neighbouring Delta State.

Before the intervention, patients in the region often faced long waiting times, high costs and long-distance travel for MRI services.
