Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd, Bayo Ojulari, has reportedly been sighted in his office after three days of being out of circulation.

Mr Ojulari, according to a report by Vanguard, arrived in his office at the NNPC Towers Abuja about 9:35 am. on Monday.

The report quoted a top security source to have confirmed to the newspaper that Ojulari was currently engaging with his usual official duties.

The source reportedly said that NNPC staff members had been asked via internal memo to disregard news of Ojulari’s resignation circulating on social media.

Ojulari’s presence in office contradicted some media reports story on Friday that he was abducted by top officers of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) forced to resign from office.

An official of the national oil company was quoted to have said: “When the former management was removed, it didn’t take more than a press statement or a post on X to achieve that. So, saying it took the combined effort of the DSS and EFCC to remove a government appointee in office is a new high in the growing fake news industry.”
